Gas distribution

Gas distribution is a strategic line of business for IES-Holding. In 2005, the company united several regional gas distribution enterprises with many years' history and experience in the sector under the common brand of GAZEKS.
GAZEKS today is a dynamically developing company which has successfully implemented projects in gas distribution and supply in the Russian Federation and Ukraine. The company serves over 4 million subscribers and 20,900 companies. The average annual volume of gas transport through GAZEKS distribution pipelines in Russia and other countries amounts to some 27.5 billion m3.

GAZEKS also runs day-to-day management of OJSC Udmurtgaz, a gas distribution company purchased in partnership with OJSC Gazprom. 
GAZEKS offers optimum solutions to provide gas supply in regions based on its systemic approach to the objectives set, experienced professionals, many years' expertise, and full range of gas supply services.
 
GAZEKS specializes in:
• natural gas transport
• gas sales (natural, liquefied gas)
• operation of gas supply facilities,
• construction of gas facilities,
• providing services to households based on the "one-stop shop" principle,
• ensuring power security and introducing power saving technologies,
• development of chains of filling stations for gas-fired motor vehicles.
GAZEKS performance indicators in Russia and Ukraine for 2006:
 
• Length of distribution pipelines serviced: 51,144 km
• Natural gas transport volume: 27.5 billion m3
• Natural gas sales volume amounts to 3 billion m3 
• Liquefied gas sales volume: 174,685 tonnes
• Number of staff: 17,900
The company actively implements a program for technological innovations in the business: 
• A program is being implemented for automatic remote control for the gas distribution system.
• An integrated multi-corporate network with enhanced bandwidth between the headquarters and regional offices for data and voice transmission is being created.
• A geographic information system is being designed (an outline map of the engineering infrastructure, a system for hydraulic design of gas pipelines, a telemetry control system, a database of the production complex, and a system for commercial gas consumption accounting). 
The GAZEKS investment programs for development in the next few years are identified by the following areas:
I. Building gas facilities.
II. Upgrading and rebuilding gas facilities.
III. A program for development of decentralised heating in regions.
Development of local heating sources that ensure not only high economic performance during normal operation, but also greater system operation stability in emergencies.
IV. Developing natural gas sales
V. Developing commercial liquefied gas sales - a chain of filling stations for gas-fired motor vehicles
  • Increasing sales of liquefied gas as motor vehicle fuel.
  • Development of existing chains of filling stations for gas-fired motor vehicles in each of the seven regions, including construction of multi-fuel filling stations.
  • Establishment of new chains of filling stations for gas-fired motor vehicles in regions. Establishment of a chain of service centers for re-equipping motor vehicles for gas operation.
