Company History

December 23, 2002

  • The founder members of CJSC Integrated Energy Systems hold their first meeting. Mikhail Yu. Slobodin is appointed Director General of CJSC IES.

January 2003

  • CJSC IES officially becomes a shareholder in the regional power companies: JSC Permenergo; and JSC Rostovenergo.
  • Two construction trusts, Vostoksibelektrosetstroy (Irkutsk) and Sibelektrosetstroy (Novosibirsk) are merged into CJSC IES. The construction of power lines becomes the basis for the company's regional business.
  • A shareholding in JSC Irkutskenergo is transferred to CJSC IES for management.

February 2003

  • The company begins to provide energy consulting services to major industrial companies.

April 2003

  • CJSC IES becomes an OJSC Sverdlovenergo shareholder.
  • CJSC IES founds OJSC Syktyvkar Heat Investment Company.

May 2003

  • Renova Group entrusts the company with the management of a shareholding (10%) in OJSC Russian Utility Systems (RUS).

August 2003

  • The CJSC IES multi-utility business begins to operate in the Sverdlovsk Region.

November 2003

  • CJSC IES and the Perm Regional Government sign a co-operation agreement to implement multi-utility projects.

January 2004

  • The energy trading unit of CJSC IES begins its operation.

March 2004

  • CJSC IES acquires a majority stake in OJSC Noyabrskelektrosetstroy (Noyabrsk) and thereby geographically expands its power grid business.

April 2004

  • CJSC IES becomes involved in utility projects in the Perm Region.

June 2004

  • Independent business units are established as part of completing the structuring of CJSC Integrated Energy Systems:
  • CJSC IES Multiutilities
  • LCC IES Energy Solutions
  • CJSC IES EnergoStroyEngineering

July 2004

  • CJSC Integrated Energy Systems purchases a blocking stake in OJSC Nizhnovenergo.

August 2004

  • CJSC IES purchases a majority stake in OJSC Zapsibelektrosetstroy. Another power line construction trust is included in CJSC IES EnergoStroyEngineering.

September 2004

  • Mikhail Yu. Slobodin, Director General of CJSC Integrated Energy Systems, is elected to the Strategy and Reform Committee of RAO UES of Russia.
  • Integrated Energy Systems comes forward with the initiative of reviving the Russia-China Power Bridge project (long-term supplies of electricity from Siberia to China).

October 2004

  • IES-Holding representatives (IES Deputy Directors General A. Tuzhilin and A. Glushchenko and IES Multiutilities Director General Sergey Chikurov) become members of the Development Committee at the OJSC RUS  Board of Directors.

November 2004

  • IES-Holding sells its shareholding in OJSC Rostovenergo.

December 2004

  • IES-Holding and the Nizhniy Novgorod Regional Government sign an agreement on cooperation in the power sector and public utilities.

January 2005

  • IES-Holding begins to operate in 60 municipalities in the Sverdlovsk Region, thereby considerably expanding its presence in the Urals.

February 2005

  • IES-Holding representatives are included in the OJSC TGC-9 Management Board, as well as three committees established at the Board of Directors.

March 2005

  • The Integrated Energy Systems holding company becomes a member of the non-profit-making partnership Interregional Exchange of the Oil and Gas Industry.

April 2005

  • OJSC Territorial Generating Company No 9 (TGC-9) starts its operation.

May 2005

  • IES-Holding closes the sale of Rostov Generating Company shares.

June 2005

  • Shareholders whose interests are represented by CJSC Integrated Energy Systems purchase blocks of shares in OJSC Kirovenergo, OJSC Udmurtenergo, OJSC Vladimirenergo, OJSC Ivenergo, OJSC Penzaenergo, and companies that spun off as a result of the reorganisation of regional power companies referred to as AO-energo's.

July 2005

  • IES-Holding reorganises its multi-utility business and sets up the united sales company CJSC Federal Sales Center.

August 2005

  • IES-Holding purchases over 90% in OJSC Chelyabinskgorgaz.
  • IES-Holding Director General, Mikhail Slobodin, is elected Chairman of the OJSC Russian Utility Systems Management Board.

October 2005

  • Mikhail Slobodin is elected President of OJSC Russian Utility Systems.
  • Fortum, RAO UES of Russia, and IES-Holding sign a memorandum of understanding which suggests the elaboration of joint policy and joint action aimed at the development of a number of territorial generating companies.

December 2005

  • IES-Holding and Federal Grid Company sign a co-operation and joint action agreement to increase the market value of the distribution grid sector. IES-Holding announces setting up a grid fund.

January 2006

  • IES-Holding purchases a controlling interest in OJSC RUS.

April 2006

  • OJSC Russian Utility Systems issues 1.5 billion roubles' worth of bonds on April 19, 2006.

June 2006

  • CJSC IES EnergoStroyEngineering wins an international tender to build a 60/22 kV electrical substation in Morocco. 

July 2006

  • IES-Holding increases its shareholding in OJSC Russian Utility Systems to 75%.

October 2006

  • IES-Holding launches its own first mini heat and power plant in the Stupino District (Moscow Region).

December 2006

  • IES-Holding closes the acquisition of a private Perm-based utilities operator, LLC Novogor Prikamie.

May 2007

  • IES-Holding purchases controlling interests in OJSC Sverdlovenergosbyt and OJSC Orenburgenergosbyt at an auction held by RAO UES of Russia.
  • IES-Holding acquires the entire additional share issue of OJSC TGC-5 and thus becomes a majority shareholder in the company.

July 2007

  • IES-Holding consolidates a strategic shareholding in TGC-7.

August 2007

  • IES-Holding's investment fund, I.D.E. Electricity Distribution Investments 1 Ltd, which specialises in investment in the Russian power grid sector, acts as the buyer of OJSC Lenenergo shares.

September 2007

  • OJSC TGC-5 officially becomes the first private territorial generating company in Russia.

December 2007

  • IES-Holding, a majority shareholder in OJSC TGC-5, acquires CJSC VyatkaTorf.
  • IES-Holding purchases an interest in OJSC Kirovenergosbyt at an auction held by RAO UES of Russia, thus becoming a majority shareholder of the company.

 February 2008

  • IES-Holding acquired 100% of the additional issue of TGC-9, as well as the shares previously held by RAO UES Russia, and became the holder of the controlling stake of TGC-9;
  • The management of Integrated Energy Systems decided to create a new business model of IES-Holding, which would include generation (electricity and heat production, heating networks), trading, retail (retail sales of electricity, heat, gas) and construction of new generating facilities.

  May 2008

  • IES-Holding won the competition to purchase the state-owned stake in JSC Volga Generating Company (TGC-7);
  • IES-Holding purchased 50,1% shares of JSC Komi Energy Sales Company at the auction of RAO UES Russia;
  • As part of IES-Holding’s new business model, the Urals Generation division was launched.

  July 2008

  • The Udmurt Government and IES-Holding signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the development of the fuel and energy complex and social sphere of the Udmurt republic;
  • As part of IES-Holding’s new business model, the Trading division was launched.

  August 2008

  •  As part of IES-Holding’s new business model, the Production Development division was launched.
