Funds obtained from Iran will be spent on achieving priority goals on the Bushehr NPP site, the media relations department of Atomstroyexport told ITAR-TASS earlier today. "The money may be spent to send groups of new Russian specialists to Bushehr and to pay for the production of the required equipment by Russian suppliers," the agency's interlocutor supposed. This equipment is "necessary to complete the construction of the second unit of the Iranian nuclear power plant," the Russian company explained. Atomstroyexport also noted that "Noruz celebrated in Iran has not affected the work of the Russian specialists on the construction." "Work is under way as usual," the Russian company added. Atomstroyexport representatives reported, "The situation on the site and in the settlement of the Russian specialists is normal. The children of the Russian specialists are on holidays that will last, like in Russia, until 1 April." Atomstroyexport declined to specify the exact amount of the payment made by the Iranian party to finance the construction. However, Sergei Kirienko, director of the Federal Nuclear Energy Agency, said a few days ago that the "sum has been paid for half a month and this is good." |
