OJSC Wholesale Generating Company No 5 (WGC-5) and Enel Investment Holding B.V. (Italy) which owns a blocking interest in the Russian generating company will exchange experience in training and educating experts and specialists and conducting education workshops, the WGC-5 media relations department reports. An agreement thereon was signed between the Russian and the Italian companies on 7 August. Besides, WGC-5 and Enel agreed to hold joint consultations, negotiations and meetings as part of said agreement, as well as on issues of co-operation with regulatory authorities and third parties and issues associated with the parties' financial and other interests. The WGC-5 management expects the agreement to result in introducing up-to-date European technologies to the company's electric power plants. "I hope that the experience and knowledge concentrated in Enel will give us new ideas, new technologies and management techniques that we will use to achieve the company's strategic goals," the media relations department quotes WGC-5 director general Anatoly Bushin as saying. OJSC WGC-5 was registered in Yekaterinburg on 27 October, 2004. The company comprises Konakovo State District Power Plant (GRES), Nevinnomyssk GRES, Sredneuralsk GRES, and Reftinskii GRES. The aggregate installed capacity of the company's generating assets amounts to 8,672 MW. The authorised capital of OJSC WGC-5 exceeds 35.3 billion roubles divided into ordinary shares with a face value of 1 rouble. The share of RAO UES of Russia in the authorised capital of the company is 50%, the share of Enel Investment Holding B.V. is 29.99%, and that of minority shareholders is 20.01%. OJSC WGC-5 shares are included in "B" quotation lists on the stock exchanges Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange and Russian Trading System. |
