RAO UES of Russia has sold at a public tender 100% of shares of OJSC Khakasenergosbyt for 230 million roubles and 49% of shares of OJSC Udmurt Power Sales Company (Udmurt PSC) for 515.515 million roubles. The tender for selling 100% of Khakasenergosbyt shares was won by OJSC Roskommunenergo which offered 2 million roubles more than the starting price for the stock, according to the media relations department of the holding company. Three tender participants competed to purchase the interest. The tender for selling 49% of Udmurt PSC shares was won by Peresvet LLC which offered 15.515 million roubles more than the starting price for the stock. Two tender participants competed to purchase the Udmurt PSC shares. At the end of the tender, protocols about auction results and sales and purchase agreements for shares of the RAO UES of Russia-owned power sales companies were simultaneously signed with the winners. No bidding occurred for selling OJSC Rostovenergo Energosbyt, OJSC Stavropolenergosbyt, OJSC Astrakhan PSC, OJSC Bryansk Sales Company (SC), and OJSC Komi SC which were also put up for sale earlier today. All these companies were put up for a public auction in September 2007, but were not sold then. Some time ago, in order to improve the efficiency of sales of its sales assets, RAO UES of Russia changed the tender procedure for selling its "third wave" sales companies. Under the new auction regulation, a closed form is now practiced at tenders for price bidding. Participants in a tender submit to the tender committee their price bids that must not be lower than the starting price in sealed envelopes. The envelopes are slit open by members of the tender committee in the presence of all of the tender participants. The bidder who has offered the highest price is declared winner. The decision in principle on RAO UES of Russia's withdrawal from PSC share capitals was passed by the holding company's board of directors on December 8, 2006. The next "third stage" tender for selling RAO UES of Russia-owned stocks in OJSC Perm PSC and OJSC Kirovenergosbyt will take place on December 4, 2007. |
