RAO UES of Russia (RTS: EESR, EESRP) Chief Executive Officer Anatoly Chubais decided Monday to appoint Maksim Kuznetsov as Director General of Wholesale Generation Company (WGC) No. 3, Valery Rodin Director General of Territorial Generation company (TGC) No. 9, the energy holding company’s PR department reports.
M. Kuznetsov has worked for OAO Volgogradenergo (RTS: VGEN, VGENP) since 2001, and V. Rodin has served as Director General of ÎÀÎ Sverdlovenergo (RTS: SVER, SVERP) since 1994.
“Maksim Kuznetsov and Valery Rodin’s candidacies had unanimous support from the RAO UESR board,” the news release says.
The RAO UESR Board of Directors had decided to establish WGC No. 3 on October 1, TGC No. 9 on September 3. Initially, WGC No. 3 will be set up on the basis of Kostromskaya, Gusinoozerskaya, Kharanorskaya, Cherepetskaya TPPs with a registered capital of 16.6 bln. rubles. Later, WGC No. 3 is to include Yuzhno-Uralskaya TTP, currently a Cheliyabenergo (RTS: CHNG, CHNGP) subsidiary. Supposedly, the WGC power plants will be put on joint stock in September 2005.
TGC No. 9 will be set up on the basis of ÎÀÎ Permenergo (RTS: PMNG, PMNGP) and ÎÀÎ Sverdlovenergo under lease terms (the TGC will start working with AO-Energos under lease contracts). Earlier, RAO UESR management board member Aleksandr Chikunov, chief of the Restructuring Project Center, said in an Interfax interview that TGC No. 9 was to commence its work in April 2005 and, a year later, become a fully integrated operating company holding assets on an ownership basis.
Earlier, A. Chubais had appointed Anatoly Bushin, managing Konakovskaya TPP, as Director General of “pilot” WGC No. 5.
WGCs and TGCs are registered as 100% subsidiaries of RAO UESR. In such cases, as provided by the energy holding company’s Articles of Association, Chairman of the Company’s Board is entitled to act as the founder.
