Boguchanskaya HPP Has Got a Coordinator
On Friday Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov visited Boguchanskaya HPP construction site (the Krasnoyarsk Territory). After the visit he has assigned the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to take a control over the realization of the completion project. He made this statement in the absence of head of RAO UES of Russia Anatoliy Chubais and Russian Alumnium owner Oleg Deripaska. Mr. Chubais and Mr. Deripaska has signed the Basic Conditions of Partnership Agreement, a document which contains key parameters of the Boguchanskaya energy and metals complex project.

RAO UES Plans Significant Investments into Southern Power System – Power Holding member
RAO UES of Russia plans to invest significant amounts into Russian southern power system, Alexander Chikunov a member of the management board of RAO UES of Russia said on Friday in Novocherkassk at the press-conference related to the start up of sixth power unit of Novocherkasskaya GRES (State District Power Plant).

Ministry of Energy and Industry Has Developed RF-Finland Power Bridge Project
The Ministry of Energy and Industry of the RF has submitted to the Russian Government the Russian-Finnish project of the construction of a high voltage cable under the Gulf of Finland for the export of Russian power to Finland, the Ministry informed Thursday.

UES Board to Discuss RusAl Boguchany Agreement in Feb
The board of directors of RAO Unified Energy System of Russia is to discuss a draft partnership agreement with Russian Aluminum at the end of February, concerning the joint completion of Boguchany Hydroelectric Plant and the construction of an aluminum plant to use its electricity, OJSC HydroWGC chief Vyacheslav Sinyugin said during a meeting with the Russian prime minister in Kozinsk.

Russian power sector needs 150 bln rubles extra per year -Khristenko

Industry & Energy Ministry To Work Out Tender Rules For Power Projects by March
The Russian government has instructed the Industry & Energy Ministry to work out and approve the rules to conduct tenders to select investors to build power capacity with the use of mechanisms to guarantee investment. A corresponding December 7 government resolution on setting up mechanisms to guarantee investment in building new generating capacity in the power sector is posted on the government's website.
