RAO UES of Russia does not abandon the idea of “classical” IPOs of generating companies which inter alia imply listing on stock exchanges, including foreign ones, in spite that strategic investors offer more for the power assets than the market.

Italy’s Enel to Increase Its Share in WGC-5, Possibly Purchase Other Generating Assets, Says RAO UES Head

The Italian company Enel that has purchased 25.3 per cent of shares of OJSC Wholesale Generating Company No 5 (WGC-5, the largest Russian generating company) will increase its share in this asset, RAO UES of Russia head Anatoly Chubais told journalists after a meeting with Enel head Fulvio Conti.

Proceeds from the simultaneous placement of additional share issues of generating companies and sale of the government's interest in wholesale (WGCs) and territorial (TGCs) generating companies will grow by 50-100%, RAO UES of Russia head Anatoly Chubais told journalists earlier today.
