The first Deputy Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, has approved the planned reorganisation of RAO UES of Russia, under which minority shareholders of the power company will have the opportunity to sell assets in the energy generation companies.

First Floating NPP to Be Commissioned in Severodvinsk by 2010, Ivanov Reports to Putin
Russia intends to commission its first floating nuclear plant to be operating in Severodvinsk by 2010, First Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov told Russia’s President. "Construction of a floating nuclear plant has started", he said. "By 2010 the first floating unit will be commissioned in Severodvinsk and it will start supplying electricity for the whole town", he added.

Power prices will double in Russia by 2020. This is confirmed by the growth scheme for power prices in the country to 2020 which Vyacheslav Kravchenko, director of the department of structural and tariff policy in natural monopolies at the Industry and Energy Ministry, presented on 5 April.
