Market Value of WGC-5 Blocking Interest Estimated at RUR25Bn
The market value of one ordinary share of OJSC Wholesale Generating Company No 5 (WGC-5) as part of the RAO UES of Russia-owned blocking interest has been estimated at approximately 2.8 roubles, a source familiar with the report of Co-Invest, the appraiser hired by the holding company, told Interfax.

New Generating Capacity of 30m kW to Be Commissioned in Russia by 2010 to Fully Offset Power Deficit – Zhukov
The government of Russia is taking substantial measures to eliminate the deficit of electric power in the country. Under an investment programme for 2006-10, generating facilities with a capacity of 30 million kilowatt are to be commissioned /including 2 million kilowatt for nuclear power plants, 5.5 million kilowatt for hydroelectric power plants, and over 22 million kilowatt for heat and power plants/.

The Government of the Russian Federation has instructed Russia’s Ministry for Industry and Energy, Russia’s Ministry for Economic Development and Trade and Russia’s Federal Tariff Service in cooperation with the federal authorities and organizations concerned to submit to the Government of the Russian Federation by 15 February, 2007 proposals on adjustment of the list and terms of activities within Russia’s power engineering reform.

Wholesale Power Market Price Grows 1% in Russia’s European Part, Goes Down Almost 20% in Siberia
Thursday trading (Friday delivery) in the wholesale electric power market of Russia’s European part and the Urals resulted in an average competitive price of RUR 393.09 per MW/h, or a 1% increase as compared with the previous day, while the average price went down almost 20% to RUR 144.24 per MW/h in Siberia.
