The production of primary fuel and energy resources in January-July 2007 increased by 1.7% over the same period of 2006 and totaled 1.042 bln tons of fuel, says the report of the Ministry of Industry and Energy.

RAO UES of Russia intends to amend the investment programme of its subsidiaries to concentrate resources on accelerating the construction of new facilities in territories where there is a deficit of power. The amendments will in the first instance concern the commissioning of new power units at Perm State District Power Plant (GRES) of Wholesale Generation Company No. 1 (WGC-1), as RBC Daily came to learn. Also, the use of the resources of WGC-5’s Konakovo GRES investment project will allow accelerating the implementation of the Reftinskii GRES construction project.

RAO UES of Russia subsidiaries are gradually choosing technical agents that will supervise the implementation of WGC and TGC investment programmes. On Friday, OJSC First Generating Company of the Wholesale Power Market (WGC-1) approved OJSC Zarubezhenergoproekt as its technical agent. An independent technical agent is quite costly for generating companies. Its fee may reach as high as 1% of the total amount of an investment programme.
