All generating companies of IES obtain from committees of the Ministry of Energy notices of readiness for the autumn and winter period
All territorial generating companies integrated in IES-Holding have obtained from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation notices confirming their readiness to operate during winter. The readiness of TGC-5, TGC-6, TGC-7 and TGC-9 to provide reliable power supply and ensure stable operations during the autumn and winter period of 2008-2009 has been confirmed by special committees comprising representatives from the Ministry of Energy, RosTechNadzor, the System Operator and Technical Inspection Division of IES.

IES-Holding Completed the Formation of Divisional Structure
IES-Holding completed the formation of the divisional structure. Within six months the following six divisions were formed in IES corresponding to their lines of activity: Ural Generation, Central Generation, Volga Generation, Trading, Power Development and Retail. Each division is headed by an executive in the position of IES Executive Vice-President.

Formal Opening of the First Interregional Championship of School Basketball League IES-Basket Took Place in Samara.
On November, 3 the formal opening of the first interregional championship of the school basketball league IES-Basket took place in “MTL Arena” in Samara. The competition was opened by Grigoriy Rapota the authorised representative of President of the Russian Federation in the Privolzhskiy Federal District and member of the School Board of the League.

Volga TGC’s Board of Directors Delegates Sole Executive Body Powers to IES-Holding
The Board of Directors of OJSC Volga TGC approved on 28 October the conclusion of an agreement on delegating the powers of the company’s sole executive body to the managing company, CJSC Integrated Energy Systems (IES-Holding) as from 1 November, 2008. A corresponding decision was made by an annual general meeting of shareholders of Volga TGC as early as 21 May 2008.

IES-Holding’s Companies Prepared to Ensure Reliable Energy Supplies in 2008-2009 Autumn and Winter Period
Measures taken to prepare IES-Holding’s power facilities for operation during the 2008-2009 autumn and winter period will ensure maximum reliability and efficiency of power supplies in 16 regions serviced by the holding company, Andrey Shishkin, IES-Holding First Vice-President, Director for Operations, told journalists at an interregional telephone press conference held on 22 October.

Russian Basketball Federation and IES-Basket School Basketball League Agree on Cooperation
The Russian Basketball Federation (RBF) and IES-Basket School Basketball League, founded and organized by IES-Holding, concluded 17 October a cooperation agreement. Its signing ceremony was attended by RBF President Sergey Chernov and IES-Holding CEO, President of IES-Basket League Mikhail Slobodin.

IES-Holding’s Power Plants Increase Power Output by 6.7% in First Nine Months of 2008
According to an analytical study of IES-Holding’s Trading Division in charge of IES’s unified strategy in the Russian electric power and capacity wholesale market, this increase in production is due to a number of objective reasons, including consumption growth and system factors.

“Power Development” Division was created and has recently started operating at IES-Holding as part of new business model implementation. This division is headed by Executive Vice President of IES-Holding Igor Golubev.
