IES-Holding and its regional power supply companies have evaluated the first month's results of the new product - EES.Garant - a medium-term fixed price power supply contract. During the first month (from July 20 to August 20, 2009) after EES.Garant appeared in the market, 207 power consumers from the Sverdlovsk Region, Orenburg Region and the Republic of Udmurtia signed fixed price electric power supply contracts. The first month's results show that the new product offered by IES-Holding's power supply companies is in demand. During the first month, more than 200 retail power consumers signed EES.Garant contracts with IES-Holding's power supply companies. This number slightly exceeds the preliminary forecast made by IES-Holding experts who did not expect such a keen interest in the new product shortly after the launch. Additional several dozens of power supply contracts are expected to be signed until the end of August thus bringing the total number of EES.Garant consumers to 300 companies and organizations. At present, about 90% of EES.Garant users are small or medium-size businesses. They consume from 1,000 to 50,000 kWt of electric power per month. Large businesses, too, have shown interest in fixed price power supply contracts. Among them are divisions of AlfaStrakhovanie PLC and OJSC Uralsvyazinform. As a result, total power supply under signed EES.Garant contracts will exceed 25 million kWt by the end of the year. Medium-term (and later long-term) fixed price power supply contracts are just the first step towards formation of a modern retail electric power market in Russia. EES.Garant contract is an innovative product developed to meet consumers' demands and most essential requirements. Under the conditions of power markets liberalization EES.Garant allows power consumers forecast their purchase costs and plan prospective budget expenses. EES.Garant is a business support instrument which efficiently protects enterprises against instability of prices on free power market. |
