Siemens equipment for IES-Holding's Malachite investment project have been delivered to Perm HPP-6 where a new 124 MW power generating unit is currently being built. Malachite is a part of IES-Holding's priority investment program named Diadem. Each new power generating unit construction project in the regions of IES-Holding operation is named after some precious mineral. Within the framework of this program it is planned to build 16 power generating plants (from 10 MW to 440 MW) in 10 regions of Russia until 2015. On the territory of the operating power station - Perm HPP-6 - a building is being built for a new combined-cycle plant with Siemens equipment. HPP-6 has been equipped with SGT-800 turbines of the latest modification. The unit's capacity is 47 MW (37.5% efficiency). The capacity of the combined-cycle plant containing two SGT-800 units and a steam turbine will reach 124 MW (87% efficiency). High efficiency of the new plant will allow reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions by 600 thousand tons. A contract for equipment supply between TGC-9 (a part of Urals Generation Division) and Siemens Corp. was signed at the end of 2007. Project implementation will allow increasing Perm HPP-6 electric power up to 180 MW, and thermal power by 240 Gcal/hr. Additional thermal power capacities will provide heating to over 50,000 apartments. In 2009, IES-Holding will allocate 5.385 billion roubles for realization of this investment project. The equipment delivered to Perm HPP-6 (turbines, generators and other mechanisms) is very heavy - from 70 to 111.5 tons. The turbines had to be carried from the port to HPP-6 through the center of the city at night under escort of traffic police and special vehicles that lifted electric lines. The length of the longest 14-axle trailer was 34 m. |
