Two General Electric gas-turbine power units LM6000 PD Sprint for reconstruction of Igumnovskaya HPP in the framework of IES-Holding's Quartz investment project have been delivered to the town of Dzerzhinsk (Nizhny Novgorod Region). The reconstruction of Igumnovskaya HPP is one of IES-Holding's priority investment projects. New buildings and facilities for a modern combined-cycle plant will be built on the territory of Igumnovskaya HPP located in the Eastern industrial zone of Dzerzhinsk. A new 125 MW combined-cycle plant will have two gas turbines LM6000. A contract for equipment supply was signed between TGC-6 (Center Generation Division of IES-Holding) and GE AERO ENERGY at the beginning of 2008. ‘The project for reconstruction of Igumnovskaya HPP included in IES-Holding's priority investment program - Diadem - is aimed at further development of the power industry in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. In fact it means that a new high-performance power plant will be built on the site of the existing HPP,' says Aleksandr Kolokoltsev, IES-Holding Executive Vice President and Head of Center Generation Division. The new combined-cycle plant will allow Igumnovskaya HPP to increase electric and heat power production, and significantly reduce fuel rate. When the new 125 MW combined-cycle plant is put into operation, the old power generating facilities will be dismantled. The IES-Holding's priority investment program named Diadem includes 16 investment projects for building power generating plants of 10 MW to 440 MW capacity in 10 regions of Russia. Each project was named after some precious or semi-precious stone - and all together they make the Diadem. Turbines for Igumnovskaya HPP were shipped to Dzerzhinsk by Instar Logistics Ltd. by water from the port of Constanta (Romania) and after reloading in the port of OJSC Dzerzhinskhimmash they will be delivered to the HPP construction site. |
