All the generating companies of IES Holding have been certified as ready for the winter season by the Ministry of Energy. TGC-5, TGC-6, Volga TGC and TGC-9 have been acknowledged as reliable suppliers of energy capable of steady operation in the autumn-winter period 2009-2010 by special committees of the Ministry of Energy. The committees included representatives of the Ministry of Energy, Rostekhnadzor, Ministry of Emergency Situations, UES System Operation Board, IES Holding specialists and managers. They analyzed technical state of the equipment, quality and timeliness of repair, evaluated the ability of the generating stations and heating systems staff to respond to low temperature, peak load conditions and other contingencies. They also verified the normative reserves of fuel. At the end of October - beginning of November documents confirming readiness of TGCs for operation in the autumn-winter period were signed on the basis of the committees' work results. On the grounds of the documents the Ministry of Energy issued certificates of readiness to the GCs. Trouble-free operation in the autumn-winter period is a priority with IES Holding. In the course of the repairs campaign, the companies of the Holding did all the current and major repairs, reconstruction and re-equipment that had been planned. By the end of 2009, the total sum of investment will have reached RUR12.5 billion. Preparation for the autumn-winter period included repairs of turbine units with the total capacity equal to 3,755 MW, power-generating boilers with the total capacity equal to 21,298 tons per hour, water heating boilers with the total capacity equal to 1,000 GCal per hour; 90 km of heat pipelines were reconstructed. Besides, the GCs of IES Holding undertook 40 large projects of technical reconstruction and re-equipment that cost RUR 40 million each. |
