Kirov CHPP-3, which is a part of to IES-Holding's ‘Generation Urals' division has completed reconstruction of 60 MW turbine generator No.6. The commissioning took place on the December 24. The investment project included installation of the new generator manufactured by NPO ELSIB (Novosibirsk), reconstruction of the base of the turbine unit, electro-technical and auxiliary equipment. The cost of works and the new equipment amounted to RUR 180 million.
The complex and large-scale reconstruction was accomplished within very narrow terms - three months. A new access railroad had to be built in order to deliver the 95-ton generator set to the installation site at Kirov CHPP-3. The new generator is equipped with a more reliable air cooling system that replaced the formerly used hydrogen cooling system to increase the operational reliability of the equipment. The implementation of IES-Holding investment project will eliminate the maintenance-related electric power restrictions of Kirov CHPP-3, and allow an increase in the production of electric power by 93,655,000 kWh compared with 2009. The expected economic effect achieved by the reconstruction is estimated to be RUR113.9 million per year. This will be achieved by sales of additional volumes of electric power during non-heating seasons, increase in the competitive ability of the plant on the capacity market and reduction of fuel consumption of the peak water boilers. |
