In 2009, IES-Holding Spent Over RUB 13 Million on OJSC Volga TGC Employee Training

03-02-2010

In 2009, 5,521 employees of Volga TGC, part of IES-Holding, completed their training, re-training and advanced training courses. Most part of them - 2,761 people - are tradesmen. The purpose of re-training and advanced training programs for the personnel of CHPPs and heat supply networks is to ensure efficient operation of energy facilities as well as to keep the qualification level of the electric power systems personnel in line with the technological environment. Besides, this year 1,018 experts, 1,707 executives and 35 top managers completed their advanced training course. In 2009, a total of  RUB 13.134 million was allocated for these purposes.

Power engineers are trained in specialized educational institutions. The main educational facility is the Training and Career Center of OJSC Volga TGC accredited as an independent qualification and methodical institution. This year the Training and Career Center in Samara is going to celebrate its 45th anniversary. This in-house educational institution allows for prompt and flexible solution of issues related to additional and advanced training, pre-qualification training, and certification of personnel in compliance with the requirements of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technical and Atomic Supervision. In 2009 4,734 employees received training and second trade re-training in the education center.

The company's personnel also received advanced training in educational institutions of Samara, Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Ekaterinburg and Moscow.

One of the top priorities of the company's HR policy in the field of education is development and motivation of the most promising experts and employees included in the company's talent pool.

Last year, the HR management of OJSC Volga TGC continued the project of in-house talent pool corporate training  which started in 2008. To develop management competence and build up motivation for professional development and career progress, several business games and trainings were delivered within this project. 60 people took part in the training sessions, - mainly the heads of departments, work section supervisors, CHP plant shift masters.

Among other types of mandatory advanced training, professional competition is the best one. This process is very important for maintaining the personnel qualification level. Winners of corporate professional competitions take part in similar contests on the national scale. For example, in September 2009, the team of VAZ CHPP took the 3rd prize in the nationwide contest among the operating personnel of CHPPs.
