Mikhail Slobodin, President of IES-Holding is included in the Coordination Council of the General Council Presidium of United Russia on the issues of energy saving and energy efficiency. The first meeting of the council is to take place in the State Duma on February 11. The Coordination Council was first summoned in October 2009. Besides politicians, it includes representatives of science and business communities. Its functions include revision of drafts and federal target programs related to the issues of energy saving and energy efficiency, as well as development of initiatives in support of Russia's Energy Strategy up to 2030 and the Federal Law On Energy Saving and Increasing Energy Efficiency. The council is headed by Yury Lipatov, Chairman of the State Duma Energy Committee. IES intends to enhance efficiency of use of energy resource by upgrading existing equipment, implementing cutting-edge production technologies, and constructing new power plants, as well as to promote energy consumption culture in Russia. "As a major energy and heat supplier, we are extremely interested in development, reliability, financial solvency and energy efficiency of our customers. Our need to help each other in saving energy resources and provide for more efficient use of these.
