For the first time in the history of Russian sports and the US National Basketball Association, a group of Russian schoolchildren will participate in ALL STARS NBA. It will take place from February 12 to 15 in Dallas, TX. The list of young athletes was determined by the Board of IES BASKET School Basketball League within the School basketball festival that took place in Yoshkar-Ola (Republic of Mari-El) in September 2009. Getting one's name on that list was no easy matter. Alongside with sports achievements, account was taken of academic progress, references from teachers and coaches, and results achieved in the course of the IES-BASKET Inter-Regional Championship. The following athletes went to ALL STARS NBA 2010: Darya Korenko - Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Region. | Vyacheslav Granikovsky - Saratov | Aleksandr Koryakin - Kirov | Anastasiya Sereda - Nizhny Novgorod | Darya Abramova - Yoshkar-Ola | Stanislav Sarafankin - Zarechny, Penza Region | Danil Martyanov - Cheboksary | Yulia Paramonova - Sadovoye, Ulyanovsk Region | Evgeniya Talalaeva - Saransk | Marina Katkova -Izhevsk | Anton Tretyakov - Togliatti, Samara Region | Nikita Troitsky - Syktyvkar |
"We are constantly looking for opportunities to show our children that results are achieved only through self-motivation, discipline, and continuous improvement of your physical and moral level! When we let the kids plunge into the atmosphere of a real sports event - no matter it's a Euroleague finals or ALL STARS - we know that these kids will never light a cigarette of use drugs! Maybe not all of them will make professional athletes, but if this is what we can achieve, our efforts are not in vain!" said Sergey Belov, Olympic champion, Honorary President of IES-BASKET School basketball league.
A trip to the most important and prestigious US basketball event is another award for the participants of IES-BASKET championship sponsored by IES-Holding. It is worth mentioning that it is the fourth time when IES-BASKET School basketball league presents the winners with a trip to Final Four Euroleague ULEB as the first prize of the Championship. The 2009-2020 male and female winner teams will see the Euroleague finals in Paris! |
