Around 17,000 employees of IES-Holding completed their training, re-training and advanced training courses in 2009. More than 10,000 of them are tradesmen. RUR45.7 million were allocated for these purposes. Advanced vocational and employee training is one of the top priorities of the Holding's HR strategy and a strong motivating factor for the employees. Training qualified personnel is a must for a reliable, stable and successful operation of a company. The programs for re-training and advanced training of CHPP and heat supply network personnel are aimed to ensure efficient operation of energy-generating facilities as well as to keep the qualification of electric power system personnel in line with the changing technological environment and power system operation. One of the key areas of focus is special training courses ‘Industrial Safety' and ‘Labor Protection' delivered to personnel employed at hazardous production facilities. Those working at gas distribution and power-supply companies are required to take similar courses. IES has established relation of partnership with specialized educational institutions, which organize the training process. Besides, the employees of a number of companies completed their advanced training courses in follow-up training centers located in Samara, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Ekaterinburg and Moscow. The company's employee training policy focuses strongly on the development and motivation of promising employees, those included into the Holding's personnel reserve. For them the most effective means to receive advanced training is to take part in a professional skill competition. For instance, the teams of IES generating divisions took the first, third and fourth prizes at Russian national competition for operating personnel of thermal power stations. The competition was held under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. |
