Since Its Commissioning, Yoshkar-Ola CHPP-2 Has Generated Over 12 Billion Kilowatt-Hours of Electric Power and Over 17 Billion GCal of Heat Energy.

On March 2nd, Yoshkar-Ola CHPP-2 – one of the key enterprises in the electric power system of the Republic of Mari El and part of the Generation Urals Division of Integrated Energy Systems – celebrated its 26th birthday. On this day in 1984, a new enterprise – Yoshkar-Ola CHPP-2 – was established pursuant to Decree No. 65 of the Ministry of Energy of the USSR.

IES-Holding Will Spend RUB 186.4 Million on Development of Peat Extraction

IES is planning to increase investments in development of peat extraction in Kirov region three times, from RUB 63.1 million in 2009 to RUB186.4 million in 2010. As a result, peat production volume will grow 100,000 tons.

Implementation of CJSC IES Investment Project in Yoshkar-Ola Will Help Increase Energy Efficiency and Save at least Half a Million cm of Gas Annually

At least 500.000 cm of gas will be saved annually in the process of fuel combustion for the needs of Yoshkar-Ola energy supply thanks to implementation by Mari El and Chuvashia branch of the CJSC IES Generation Urals division of the project related to transfer of the inhabitants of the 251th urban quarter of Oktyabrskiy community to the system of centralized heat supply by Yoshkar-Ola CHPP-2.

Yuri Zhinzhin, Deputy Chief Engineer of Krasnogorsk CHPP of CJSC IES Generation Urals Awarded Title of Honored Power Engineer of the Russian Federation

The title of Honoured Power Engineer of the Russian Federation was awarded to Yuri Zhinzhin, Deputy Chief Engineer of Krasnogorsk CHPP of CJSC IES Generation Urals Division for his almost thirty years’ work in the energy industry.

Head of the IES-Holding "Generation Center" Division Participated in the Concluding Meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities and Fuel and Energy Complex of the Nizhny Novgorod Region

Aleksandr Kolokoltsev, the executive vice president of IES-Holding and head of the Generation Center Division spoke at the extended public meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities and Fuel and Energy Complex of the Nizhny Novgorod Region related to summarizing the 2009 results and setting the tasks for 2010. The meeting took place on February 19 and was attended by Vladimir Lebedev, deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and representatives of the regional authorities.

IES-Holding Sent Young Athletes from 12 Russian Localities to ALL STARS NBA

For the first time in the history of Russian sports and the US National Basketball Association, a group of Russian schoolchildren will participate in ALL STARS NBA. It will take place from February 12 to 15 in Dallas, TX. The list of young athletes was determined by the Board of IES BASKET School Basketball League within the School basketball festival that took place in Yoshkar-Ola (Republic of Mari-El) in September 2009.

Mikhail Slobodin Included in United Russia’s Coordinating Council for Energy Efficiency

Mikhail Slobodin, President of IES-Holding is included in the Coordination Council of the General Council Presidium of United Russia on the issues of energy saving and energy efficiency. The first meeting of the council is to take place in the State Duma on February 11.

In 2009, IES-Holding Spent Over RUB 13 Million on OJSC Volga TGC Employee Training

In 2009, 5,521 employees of Volga TGC, part of IES-Holding, completed their training, re-training and advanced training courses. Most part of them – 2,761 people – are tradesmen. The purpose of re-training and advanced training programs for the personnel of CHPPs and heat supply networks is to ensure efficient operation of energy facilities as well as to keep the qualification level of the electric power systems personnel in line with the technological environment.

The diploma of the Silver Archer National Award in the field of public relations development was awarded to the Energy Cooperation Contest, which was developed and implemented by the Regional Projects Department together with the press centers of the divisions and companies of IES-Holding in 2009.

IES-Holding Power plants: Production of Electric Energy Reduced by 7.8% and Heat Energy - by 1.5% in 2009

In 2009, IES-Holding power plants produced 63.3 billion kWh of electric energy and 118.6 million GCal of heat. Compared to 2008, the electric energy output reduced by 7.77%, while heat output showed a slight drop at the rate of 1.46%.
