Mikhail Slobodin Holds Round Table Meeting for Innovations in Energy Efficiency as part of INNOPROM-2010 Exhibition

IES-Holding’s President, Mikhail Slobodin, held a round table meeting dedicated to innovations in the field of energy efficiency, organized as part of the exhibition INNOPROM-2010 held on July 15-19 in Yekaterinburg. The participants discussed issues related to the financing of projects in the field of energy efficiency, development of alternative energy sources, introduction of innovative technologies and smart metering systems and energy consumption.

Intergovernmental Partnership in Energy Efficiency to be Expanded

On July 15, as part of the Russian-German interstate consultations in Yekaterinburg, with the participation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, a multilateral agreement aimed at expanding cooperation in the field of energy efficiency was signed.

IES-Holding to Complete Heating Season in Vorkuta since July 1. It Lasts for Record-Breaking Period – 309 Days

On July 1, the Vorkuta companies of IES-Holding, supplying heat and power, will complete the heating season of 2009-2010, being the latest to do so. Recently, the Municipal Administration of the Urban District of Vorkuta has signed a corresponding resolution. Since July 1, the Vorkuta CHPPs and heating grids (included in the Generation Urals Division of IES-Holding) will cut off the heat supply to residential properties and industrial facilities of the city and urban-type settlements.

IES-Holding’s “Trading” Division Gets Access to Trading in Power Futures

IES-Holding’s “Trading” Division has been granted access to trading power futures, which are derivative financial instruments of electric power trading. The first trading in power futures contracts will take place at the Moscow Energy Exchange (formerly Arena Energy Exchange) on June 21. The “Trading” Division is going to take an active part in futures trading, implementing a unified strategy of IES-Holding’s power generating companies in the Russian wholesale electricity and power market.

Chemical and Engineering Enterprises are the Most Energy-Efficient Among Largest Energy Consumers, according to the Result of Energy Cooperation Competition

For the second year running, chemical and engineering companies are the most energy-efficient ones among large consumers of heat and electricity. They have won 17% of top places (each industry respectively) in the “Large Business” nomination in the 2010 Energy Cooperation Competition held by IES-Holding in 16 regions of Russia, having received 20 awards as “The Most Energy Efficient Company of the Year".

On 19 May 2010, the Board of Directors of TGC-9 held a meeting in absentia at which a number of issues relating to annual general meeting of shareholders were discussed. The meeting approved of the date, time and place of holding the general meeting of shareholders

IES-Holding to Spend 12.95 Billion Rubles for Repairs and Re-equipment in 2010

IES-Holding’s companies successfully went through the 2009-2010 heating season and began preparing for the next heating season. The company plans to spend 12.95 billion rubles for repairs, technical modernization and re-equipment, 12% more than last year. This year, IES-Holding’s generating companies will focus on their heat networks reconstruction and significantly increase investment for these purposes.

IES-Holding’s Companies in Sverdlovsk Region Announce Nominees for “The Most Energy Efficient Company of the Year” Award

The Contest Committee of OJSC Sverdlovenergosbyt and LLC Sverdlovsk Heat Supplying Company has announced nominees for the Energy Cooperation Competition Award. The competition was initiated by IES-Holding and supported by the Sverdlovsk Region’s government. The list of the most energy-efficient companies includes both large and small industrial enterprises, small companies, trading firms, and service providers.

EnergoStroyEngineering Completes Construction of Special Crossing on Angara

In April 2010, CJSC National Corporation EnergoStroyEngineering (NC ESE) completed the construction of a complex crossing on the Angara River within the framework of the project for the construction of a double-circuit 220 kV power line from 220 kV Priangarskaya substation to 220/110/6 kV Razdolinskaya substation, including modernizing of Razdolinskaya substation in the Boguchany district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. NC ESE has been the general contractor for this project since January 2009. The Customer of the project is Engineering and Construction Management Center of the Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System (FGC UES).

The Power of Victory: Soviet Power Engineering during World War II” Exhibition Organized by IES Holding and Museum of Contemporary History of Russia

The exhibition “The Power of Victory: Soviet Power Engineering during World War II” in Moscow was organized by the Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia together with IES Holding. The exhibition is dedicated to the 65-th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and tells about power engineering during the war, in the postwar reconstruction period, and about the present day of the industry.
