IES Generating Companies to Place Bonds Amounting to RUB27 Billion

The Boards of Directors of IES-Holding’s generating companies (OJSC TGC-5, OJSC TGC-6, OJSC TGC-9 and OJSC VoTGC) decided to issue bonds for the overall amount of RUB27 billion. These funds will be allocated to financing of the Holding’s investment plan.

IES Held Meeting on Development Prospects of Gas-Distributing Business in Ukraine

On March 26, CJSC IES held a meeting chaired by Company President M. Yu. Slobodin, dedicated to future development of gas-distributing business in Ukraine. Heads of operating units of CJSC IES and general directors of all Ukrainian gas-distributing companies of the Holding, A. S. Dudolad (OJSC Kharkovgorgaz), I. A. Bozhinsky (OJSC Kharkovgaz), S. V. Korneychuk (OJSC Donetskgorgaz), B. S. Stegny (OJSC Dneprogaz), A. A. Bystray (OJSC Krivorozhgaz) took part in the meeting.

IES-Holding Spent RUR45.7 Million for Employee Training in 2009

Around 17,000 employees of IES-Holding completed their training, re-training and advanced training courses in 2009. More than 10,000 of them are tradesmen. RUR45.7 million were allocated for these purposes. Advanced vocational and employee training is one of the top priorities of the Holding’s HR strategy and a strong motivating factor for the employees. Training qualified personnel is a must for a reliable, stable and successful operation of a company.

The final round of IES-BASKET School Basketball League Championship to be held in Ekaterinburg on May 29 through April 3

Supported by the Ministry for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation and the government of Sverdlovsk Region, the Super Finals of IES-BASKET School basketball league will be held in Ekaterinburg on May 29 through April 3. The school teams from 34 localities of the Russian Federation that won their regional competitions will fight for the main prize of the Championship – a trip to Paris, to visit Final Four ULEB.

Installation of Steel Works of New CCGT Main Building Is Completed at Syzran CHPP

Installation of steel works of the main building at a new 235 MW CCGT unit is completed at Syzran CHPP (Generation Volga Division of CJSC IES). It is planned to invest RUB3.8 billion in 2010. The overall estimate cost of the project, which will be completed in 2011, amounts to RUB11.2 billion.

Mikhail Slobodin Took Part in Meeting of Presidential Committee for Modernization and Technological Development

Mikhail Slobodin, President of CJSC IES, took part in the meeting of the Committee for Modernization and Technological Development of the Russian Economy of the President of the Russian Federation, which was held on March 23 in Khanty-Mansiysk. Government representatives, a number of ministers as well as heads of major energy companies of the country participated in the meeting. They discussed issues of energy saving and efficiency in the fuel and energy sector.

IES Sent Official Letter to State Duma and RF Ambassador Plenipotentiary Related to Theft of Company’s Property in Ukraine

On March 18, IES-Holding sent official letters to M. Zurabov, Russian Ambassador in Ukraine and Special Representative of the Russian President for Development of Trade and Economic Relations with Ukraine, K. Kosachev, Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the RF State Duma and V. Pleskachevsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Property. They contain a request for assistance in clearing up the situation of the attempt of illegal seizure of IES’s property in Ukraine.

In 2010, IES Will Invest RUB 4.1 Billion in the Construction of New Power Generation Unit at Perm CHPP-6

In 2010, IES-Holding will invest RUB 4.1 billion in the construction of a power generation unit with the installed capacity of 124 MW at Perm CHPP-6 (Generation Urals division). The total investment in the project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2011, is estimated at RUB 9 billion.
